Funky Monkey Snacks Review/Giveaway

Funky Monkey Snacks are freeze dried fruit - all natural, with no added sugar, preservatives, colors or flavors. They are gluten-free, wheat-free and dairy-free and mostly organic. There is three servings of fruit in every bag! I was given four bags in four different flavors: Bananamon (banana and cinnamon), Carnaval Mix (banana, pineapple, apple, papaya and raisins), Jivealime (pineapple and lime juice) and Purple Funk (banana and acai berries), in exchange for my honest review.

Of course my little assitant, Mr. Chase face, helped with the sampling process. My husband, Grant, even got in on this review. We all agreed that the best tasting flavor was the Carnival Mix. It is a mix of banana, pineapplie, apple, papaya and raisins. We loved! It was sweet and crunchy and made a great substitute for trail mix.

Next on our list of favorites was a tie between the Bananamon and the Jivealime. I thought that the Jivealime should should be the second best flavor. I love dried pineapple. It's sweet with a chewy center. I've used dried pinapple in place of candy many times when I was craving something sweet. Grant went with the Bananamon as his second choice because he loved the cinnamony flavor. This surprised me because he doesn't really like bananas. Chase was undecided between the two because he liked them both.

Our least favorite flavor was a unanimous decision, Purple Funk. I did not like it at all and Grant said it was just okay. It was hard to convince Chase to try it but he finally did and had to spit it out. I think it was hard for him to get over the look of the little banana chips with all the acai berries covering the top of them. It looked almost like someone burnt the tops of all of the chips. The flavor was not bad, just different from any other dried fruit that I've ever tried. We eat a lot of dried fruit for a healthy snack but I don't think the acai flavor is one that I could get use to.

You can order them through Amazon by CLICKING HERE.

One lucky person can win one bag of each of the four flavors mentioned in my review. For the first, mandatory entry leave me a comment about which flavor you think will taste the best. You can do any or all of the things in the list below to get additional entries. Please leave seperate comments for everything you do from of the list.

RomanticGifts.com Chrome Naughty Bedroom Dice Review/Giveaway

Everybody has seen this type of dice game before. You can get them in the mall, adult stores, with Valentines day gifts at most drug stores and I've even seen them at the gas station! They're usually plastic and some glow in the dark. The set of chrome Naughty Bedroom Dice that I received from RomanticGifts.com in exchange for this review are much nicer than any other set of this kind of dice I've ever seen. They come in a pretty, black velveteen pouch for easy storage. You won't have to worry about losing one of the dice. They are a much classier set of better quality than the plastic ones because they are made of aluminum which makes them much heavier than the plastic ones I've used. One of the dice has the words -  tease, lick, suck, stroke, kiss, and blow. The other dice has the words -  boobs,ears, naughty bits, neck, toes, and lips. Just shake them up and roll to see what surprise you'll receive from your partner. We've been playing with these dice for the past few nights and it's been so much fun. This is such a simple way to add a little more spice to your love life and bring some fun into the bedroom.You can go to romanticgifts.com and buy a set for just $14.95 AND you'll get a free mini vibe with your order. They also have a huge selection of toys for couples, romantic games,  massage gifts and so much more.

If you'd like to try the dice without buying them first I have one set of Naughty Bedroom Dice to giveaway. This giveaway is only available to the US. For your first, mandatory entry just visit RomanticGifts.com and come back and tell me one item you wish you had. You can also do any or all of the things on the list below for additional entries.
This giveaway will end on Nov. 17 and the winners will be selected using Random.org.

Growing Tree Toys Blast Pad Review

                                                        I was given the opportunity to review a toy for Growing Tree Toys. Chase was so excited to find out I had another product for review that he was going to have to test out for me.We got the Blast Pad rocket launcher.  It's great because the launcher, rockets, and the tubes that send the rockets flying are are connected to the case that everything fits into perfectly and the bonus - it has a convenient handle cut out! No more losing pieces and struggling to carry all of the pieces for a play set. It was so simple to set it up. All that you have to do is pull out the pad that you jump on and pull the hard plastic tubes straight up. This tube is about three feet high. Another good thing about this is the fact that it only shoots straight up into the air Thats all there is to it. Now you just slide a rocket down the top of the tube and jump on the pad as hard as you can and watch the rocket sore! It comes with three rockets so it'll be okay if you get one stuck up in a tree. These rockets fly crazy high. Chase has had such a fun time playing with this and showing it to his friends. The Blast Pad is reccomended for ages 8 and up. You can  find lots of great educational toys like this at Growintreetoys.com

E.L.F Cosmetics Review

E.L.F cosmetics sent me a nice package full of make up in exchange for my review. I can't belive how inexpensive this stuff is considering how well it works. Most makeup only cost $1.00 with the Studio Line and mineral makeup going up to just $8.00!  I was very lucky to have the chance to try out all three of their different lines of makeup.

I recieved the Shimmering Facial Whip and I absolutely love it! I just gives a light, shimmery color to your face, lips and eyes. I used it as a highlighter on my cheeks. It blended in beautifully and left a nice glow on my skin. I also got the Golden Bronzer from the Studio line of makeup. I honestly threw away my usual bronzer after trying the e.l.f. bronzer. It's amazing! Just like the facial whip, it leaves a really pretty, light shimmer on your skin. It picks up the light and left my face looking amazing with a subtle shimmer. The bronzer has four different colors in the compact and I just mixed them all together on my brush and dusted it all over my face. I love shimmery makeup but I don't want to have glitter all over me unless it's Halloween so this makeup is perfect for me. Another awesome product that I recieved was the Corrective Concealer compact. It has a pink concealer to cover bags under eyes and a green concealer to hide pimples and other red blemishes such as scars. It also has a light and a dark skin colored concealer. I hate the huge bags under my eyes so I was eager to try this to see if I could cover them up. It comes with a tiny concealer brush and it was easy to use. It blended right in without being greasy or heavy feeling on my skin. After I finished covering up and bronzing it was time for some decorating! I received two different eye shadows. One was from the Mineral makeup line. It's a little pot of loose mineral shadow that I really liked a lot. It's a darker color so I used it as a liner and it has that perfect, beautiful shimmer also. The other eyeshadow is a shadow and liner pencil. I wasn't sure at it at first because it's a shade of green but once I put it on it looked amazing with my blue/green eyes. It went on very smoothly and also blended in easily and it wasn't greasy like other shadow pencils that I have tried. After trying all of these products it is very easy for me to reccomend this makeup to anyone. I have been using all of the e.l.f. products that I recieved almost every day now. I replaced some of my usual
makeup with my new e.l.f makeup. I also received a

mineral lipgloss that is my new favorite gloss. I always wear lipgloss so I've tried them all from many different brands so lipgloss is my thing. I was given the color Pageant Princess. It looks very natural and it isn't super sticky like some lip glosses. It actually lasted a pretty long time also which is a huge plus with lipgloss. I think that everyone should try the E.L.F cosmetics. If you don't want to place an order online you can go and buy it at most drug stores and they are saleing it at Target too.

Joshua Bell, At Home with Friends, Album Review

I realize I am posting this review late but you all know that I've been extremely sick and I'm trying to get myself caught back up in just a few days. I received the Joshua Bell cd, At Home with Friends, and I was really excited to listen to it. I love classical music and I played the viola for a few years so I knew the cd would be great. I likeed the way that he plays with friends and there are some interesting combinations. I especially loved #12 featuring Regina Spektor. It was so beautiful with her singing and Joshua Bells playing the violin. It was a wonderful album full of beautiful music. Each song was completely different from the one before it which is always important to me when listening to a cd. There were wonderful slow songs and also happy, upbeat, fast songs that I loved too. SmartKnit Kids Sock Review and Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago I received a package that contained three pairs of socks from SmartKnitKIDS. I was very happy to have a chance to review this product. Of course this review required the assistance of my favorite little product tester, the greatest helper in the world, my little boy, Mr. Chase Face. CHASE HATES SOCKS! He always has and it's been an ongoing battle in our house for years to keep socks on his stinky little feet. Sometimes he'll hide them and tell me he put them on or he'll "accidentally" forget them or he'll even take them of in the bathroom and come out with his shoes on like nothing happened. He says that they are stupid and uncomfortable, too big, "bunching all over my toes," and that they make his shoes too little. I gave him a pair of the SmartKnitKIDS socks and at first, he thought that they were crazy looking. They have no seams at all and no heel and they're made out of stretchy corespun and lycra yarns that result in a form-fitting design. He put them on and thought that they were awesome. Since there is no heel he couldn't put them on wrong and there was no seam at the bottom to pile up on his toes. He liked the way that they were stretchy and fit snug on his feet with out being super tight. Mr. Chase Face and I just happen to wear the same size shoe so I borrowed a pair of these SmartKnitKIDS socks to try them out myself. They were amazing! These were the most comfortable socks that I have ever worn. My toes were so comfortable and the snug fit kept the socks from falling down in my shoes all day long. I have a habit of wearing my shoes untied so they are super lose and they eat my socks when I'm walking. The socks have a non-binding Halo Top that fits comfortably without slipping down the leg. Regular socks often have elastic bands at the tops of the sock that can often pinch, bind or be a source of irritation.The SmartKnitKIDS socks are made with high-tech fibers that wick moisture away helping ensure a drier and more hygienic sock environment. Antimicrobial benefits help prevent “stinky feet” which is EXACTLY what Chase needs! If you want to try these amazing socks you can go to this link, http://www.therawear.com/kids_socks.html and buy them. I know that your kids will love them.

If you want to try them before you buy them you can enter my giveaway. Your first required, mandatory entry is to visit the site, http://www.smartknitkids.com/index.html, and tell me something that you learned about the socks in your comment. You can do any or all of the following for additional entries into the giveaway.

Yoli TRUTH Blast Cap Review

The Yoli TRUTH blast cap is one of the coolest products that I've had the chance to review. It's a citrus flavored health drink that you can drink four times a day. There's only 10 calories per 20oz. bottle and just 2g of carbohydrates with zero artificial sugars and a low glycemic index. Yoli incorporates wholesome 200% of the RDA of Vitamin C and a proprietary blend of some of the most popular, healthy ingredients including many super fruits, such as: Pomegranate, Alkaplex®, Acai extract, Gogi Berry, Resveratrol, Oxyphyte™ White Tea extract, Probiotics, and Monatau®, The Yoli Blast Caps deliver a healthy alternative to all of the nutrient-deprived, sweetened beverages most people are consuming every day. It has a great citrus flavor that myself and my husband loved and so did my 8 year old son. I havn't even told you what makes this health drink so awesome. The citrus drink mix is contained in the cap on the bottle, it's called a Blast Cap. You have to remove the protective cover from the bottom of the lid, twist it onto the bottle and then you push down on the top of the Blast Cap to "blast" the drink mix into the water. How cool is that? This definetly made the drink very appealing to my little boy, Chase. You blast the mix in and see it fizzing around in the bottle then give it a good shake and you have a delicious and very healthy citrusy drink. Yoli is also helping to save the environment because you save your bottle and simply buy the blast caps. This helps reduce waste by reducing the need for all those plastic bottles that people are using when they buy individual bottles of water and sports drinks.  The Blast Cap will not be available to the public until January 2010. You'll be able to purchase the bottle, the ph alkaplex water & one blast cap for just $3.99! The replacement blast caps will only cost you $2.50!

You can visit http://www.theblastcapdrink.com/ for more information.

 If you would like to review the Blast Cap healthy drink yourself, contact Michele at michelerosborough@theblastcapdrink.com

Gutzees "Vault Bag" Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review a product from The Satin Collection from the Gifts for Her items from an amazing site called Gutzees.
Gutzees features beautiful Gifts for Her, a collection for Brides and Bridesmaids and a Home Trends section featuring their Purse Keeper that can also be found at Bed Bath & Beyond.

"Recessionista Gifts for the Fashionistas in your life!
Who says chic can't be cheap? With Gutzees gifts for the home and for travel, these gifts can jazz up anyone's closet - both inside and out - for under $50 on their new ecommerce site at http://www.gutzees.com/. All under $50.00."

From the About Us Page:

Our line consists of an array of fabulous gift and travel products. These products include lingerie bags, jewelry bags, shoe stuffers and eye masks, available in satin or mink. We have recently developed a division called Home Trends which consists of home organizational products such as Faux Croc and Lizard Shoe, Ankle, Accessory and Knee Hi Boot Boxes.

We named the company "Gutzees" in honor of all of life's past experiences. Gutzees represents support and strength not only in one's shoes, but also, on a larger scale of life, it symbolizes "Inner Strength" to meet life's many challenges and overcome them. One needs to be "Gutzee".

The wonderful ladies at Gutzees sent me a beautiful "The Vault Bag" from the Satin Collection in exchange for this review. I was so amazed when I opened the box to find my beautiful satin bag. It's a pretty brown bag with a little gold chain attached to the zipper. When you unzip and lift the top on the bag there is a soft, round top that fits inside the bag to keep all of your items inside the pockets of the bag. When I picked the Vault bag as my review item I didn't realize that there are nine individual pockets all around the inside of the bag to keep your jewelry seperated so that it doesn't get tangled together. I couldn't have picked a better product. This is my new favorite bag whenever I need to pack my things to travel. I think every woman should have a Vault Bag to keep all of her jewelry organized and safe when traveling. Head on over to http://gutzees.com/ and check out all of the beautiful gifts they have.

How to Put a Retweet Button on Your Post in Blogger.

I decided that I would install a retweet button on my post in hopes that people would start tweeting more of the things that I write and the giveaways that I have. It was pretty easy to do after I figured out a few problems that you guys won't have to deal with because I worked it all out. After figuring out all of my coding I decided to try it out.

If you were thinking that you don't really need this little Tweet button I promise you that you will be so glad you installed it - even if people don't use it. It literally takes two clicks to Tweet about whatever post it is your on, that's it, TWO CLICKS! I sent out a Tweet message about all of my giveaways in like three minutes! I couldn't believe it. You don't even have to type anything, just click the Tweet button, the message is already there waiting for you, click again to send. You're gonna save so much time with this button. I'm actually sending out so, so, so many more Tweets on my post now cause it's so quick and too simple.

Sooo, I'm guessing that you are super ready for some simple, 'Manda-style instructions - yes? You are in for such a treat because this one is madd easy! There are special instructions to go along with this if you are using a Blogger classic template, these special instructions are marked with a *

First, you need to go into your layout on your dashboard and go to edit html. Check the little box to expand widgets template.

You need to find a piece a code that looks like this:  <div class='post-header-line-1'/>
(Mine was located about the middle of the page but all codes are gonna be different)

*If you are using a Blogger classic template you need to locate this piece of code: <$BlogItemBody$> You also need to change the retweet button code that I've given you below a little bit.
 Change this: <data:post.url/> to this: <$BlogItemPermalinkUrl$> in the code below. After you change that piece in the retweet button code, place the retweet button code above this piece of code in your template: <$BlogItemBody$> That's it, you're all done and your classic blogger template is updated with a sweet retweet button.

Here is the code that you will need to insert at the the end of that line of code you just found. See where it says 'PUT YOUR TWITTER USER NAME HERE', you guessed it, you have to put your twitter user name there. Make sure you leave the apostrophe before and after your Twitter user name. Here's an example using my Twitter name: 'raleighexaminer'

Retweet Button Code:

<div style="float:right;padding:4px;">

<script type="text/javascript">
tweetmeme_url = '&lt;data:post.url/>';
tweetmeme_source = 'PUT YOUR TWITTER USER NAME HERE';
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://tweetmeme.com/i/scripts/button.js"></script>
</div>

That's it! Save your template and you now have an awesomely quick and easy way to Tweet all of your post.

If you've looked it over and over and over again and you just can't find that piece of code then find the very first time that this code is used: <data:post.body/> It has to be the FIRST occurence of the code. Place the retweet button code directly in FRONT of that piece of code. That's it, you're done!

Bed Bouquet Review and Giveaway

I was super excited when I read about the Bed Bouquet Undercover Fragrance. I think that everything should smell good at all times. I have candles and plug-in fragrance warmers and room sprays - you get the idea. I used to use a scented pillow spray but I didn't like the fact that I was spraying chemicals all over my clean sheets and pillows and then laying in them. I decided not to use the spray any more and have been looking for something to replace it with ever since. I decided to contact the people at Bed Bouquet and they were more than happy to send me a sample pack with two different Bed Bouquet units in exchange for my review. I was happy to see that I had received the linen fresh and citrus scents. They also have jasmin & white rose and lavender & vanilla. I decided to use the citrus scented Bed Bouquet first because I really like the sweet, crisp scent of citrus. It's really simple to use, you just pull the big piece of plastic off the front to uncover the vents to let the scent out and then remove the paper strip from the back to reveal the sticky strip that holds your Bed Bouquet in place on your mattress. The unit is specially made so that it is undetectable while you are sleeping. You simply stick the Bed Bouquet on top of your mattress and under your fitted sheet. I decided to place it just below the head of my bed. It's awesome! It's been around three weeks now and it still smells so good. It's not too strong, it's just a nice, suttle, constant scent. Each bed bouquet unit last for thirty days. So, do you want to try them for yourself now? If so, they have a special going on their site until Oct.23. Just click HERE and you can order two Bed Bouquet units for free - just pay $4.97 for postage and handling. You'll also get  a free Bed Care ebook with your order. If you don't want to order then you definetly need to enter the giveaway. I'll be picking two winners. Each lucky lady and/or fella will receive a sample pack of two different Bed Bouquet units. This giveaway is open to US residents only. To enter, go to the site, http://bedbouquet.com/, and come back and tell me some thing that you learned. This is the first, mandatory entry. You can gain additional entries by doing any or all of the options below.
This giveaway will end on Nov. 5.
***I would like to thank Prerna from The Mom Writes for bringing to my attention that I didn't mention that this is for US only. I realize that I have left this out every time I've posted a giveaway. I'm sorry for leaving this out and I'll remember from now on. Thanks Prerna for bringing this to my attention.***

Crazy Dog T-Shirts Review and Giveaway

I have found another super cool website that I wanted to tell you guys about. It's called Crazy Dog T-Shirts. They have t-shirts for men and women and even children. Since it's almost Halloween they also have a large assortment of adult and pet costumes. I contacted the guys over at Crazy Dog T-Shirts and they were very nice and agreed to send me any t-shirt that I wanted from the site in exchange for a review. They also agreed to sponsor a giveaway for my wonderful readers of any t-shirt that the winner chooses. I love, love, love 80's horror movies so I went with this awesome Camp Crystal Lake t-shirt from the heart-warming classic, Friday the Thirteenth. (queue the "chuu chuu chuu" - "ah ah ah")
You can find tons of 80's t-shirts and also a huge selection of movie t-shirts at Crazy Dog. They also have funny shirts, offensive shirts, retro and vintage t-shirtsThe shirt arrived surprisingly fast so they get a big high-five for the processing and shipping departments. I was very happy with my shirt too, it's soft and comfortable and the picture on the front of it is meant to look worn so it's just a really cool t-shirt for the weekend and playing outside with my little boy, Chase. The only thing I would say might be a problem for some people is the fact that the size of my shirt ran a little small. I'm definetly going to order my shirts one size bigger next time I order from them. Other than that it's a great company with tons of great products and I was really satisfied as a customer. The prices range from $6 to $24 for their wide selection of choices. I spent over an hour going through all of the funny t-shirts they have with my husband, who absolutely loved the site! He wanted almost every shirt that they have!

Now for the giveaway! Go check out the site here, http://www.crazydogtshirts.com/servlet/StoreFront, and come back and leave me a comment telling me which t-shirt you want. This is your first and mandatory entry into the giveaway for one t-shirt of the winners choice from Crazy Dog T-Shirts. This giveaway ends on Nov. 16.
