Women are Crazy, Men are Stupid!

Women Are Crazy, Men Are Stupid

The Simple Truth to a Complicated Relationship
By Howard J. Morris & Jenny Lee
Published by Simon Spotlight Entertainment
September 2009; $22.99US/$29.99CAN; 978-1-4165-9505-2

Which came first, the crazy or the stupid?

It's the million-dollar question we all want the answer to. Are women crazy because men are stupid? Or are men stupid because women are crazy? Not surprisingly, the way we answer these two questions divides us quite neatly along gender lines. Because, let's face it, we all have a lot invested in the answer. Women maintain that over the course of their lives they are driven slowly and methodically crazy by stupid men. And men maintain that it's impossible for any man to act smartly with a women who's out of her freaking mind. If we can just prove one came first, the other side will have blaming rights for all eternity.

--From Women Are Crazy, Men Are Stupid

The revealing, rip-roaringly funny guide to making every relationship smarter, saner, and happier.

Since the dawn of time, when the first smitten caveboy tried to woo the object of his affections by shoving her into the mud, men have demonstrated that when it comes to women, they are profoundly stupid. And when it comes to men, women -- no matter how intelligent or mature -- are completely crazy.

Based on the simple yet groundbreaking insight, comedy writers and real-life couple Howard J. Morris and Jenny Lee have devised a relationship guide that is refreshingly honest, completely hilarious, and surprisingly practical. Using their own crazy/stupid romance as an example of these forces in action, they set out to explain why women ask questions that they absolutely do not want answered -- and why men persist in answering them. What are men really thinking -- or crucially, not thinking? Why do women view even the most mundane events through an emotional prism? Why do guys suck at being romantic? And why does every conversation with a woman lead back to whether or not she's fat?

Using wit, hard-earned wisdom, and a highly entertaining he said/she said format, the authors explore the surprising method to his dumbness and the valid reasons behind her insanity, while providing real solutions to perennial relationship problems. By teaching men how and why they're stupid around women and showing women how to "control the crazy" for everybody's sake, Women Are Crazy, Men Are Stupid helps couples to reach the place where giving isn't giving in, needing isn't needy, and where the sexes can break the dysfunctional patterns and find a way to live lovingly, happily ever after.

Morris, coauthor of Women Are Crazy, Men Are Stupid: The Simple Truth to a Complicated Relationship, began his career in television, writing for the revolutionary HBO series Dream On, and then on the Emmy-nominated Home Improvement. Jenny Lee, coauthor of Women Are Crazy, Men Are Stupid: The Simple Truth to a Complicated Relationship, was a writer on the hit comedy series Samantha Who?, starring Christina Applegate, and a writer on the Nickelodeon show The Troop. She is also the author of three books of humor essays: Skinny Bitching, What Wendell Wants, and I Do. I Did. Now What?!: Life After the Wedding Dress. They live together in Los Angeles.

Reviews

"What I love most about this hilarious battle of the sexes book is that while you're laughing it morphs into a great love story."
--Debra Messing

"You'd be crazy not to buy this book for the man in your life. And if he won't read it, serve it with bacon."
--Tim Allen

"Morris and Lee are stupid and crazy so you don't have to be. The chapter on romance is a classic!"
--Gigi Levangie Grazer

"This book is laugh-out-loud funny. And I don't just mean that 'lol' stuff. I actually laughed out loud. The surprise is that a book this funny is also so wise. It's bursting with real insights and universal truths. At the same time, it's deeply personal. Howard and Jenny spare us no intimate details of their relationship. You're reading it thinking, Should they be telling us this? We don't know them that well. But ultimately, you realize they're telling us about our crazy/stupid selves."
--David Crane, cocreator of Friends

This is just a quick introduction to the latest book that I will be reviewing. I was so excited about this one and I really think that you guys are going to love it!

Pure Silk Shaving Cream Review and Giveaway

I've used Pure Silk shaving cream forever. I usually get the big bottle that is raspberry scented. I was scent a free can recently in exchange for this review. The review bottle that I received was melon splash scented. I had forgotten how good melon scented products smelled! I'm all about beauty products that smell good. Shower time is especially important for us moms since it's a quick little bit of "me time" so we need nice, pampering, smell-good, spa-like products. The Pure Silk shave cream fits that description. It leaves your legs super soft and smooth since it's a cream instead of a gel which covers your legs evenly for a great, even shave and it is made with special moisturizers that help softener your legs as you shave.

Pure Silk shave gel has another added bonus now - the completely aluminum cans! What does that mean? No more rusty ring in your shower. I HATE trying to scrub and clean that ring out of my shower! Now, I don't have to anymore thanks to the brand new can design. The new cans are also ten percent smaller and eleven percent lighter which means it's made with less material but contains the same amount of the product.

I love Pure Silk and think that it is an awesome product that you should try. How about a free can? I have two to give away to two different winners. You should know how this works by now, do any or everything on the list below.
This giveaway is open only to the US and it ends on Dec.21.

  • WholesaleKeychain.com Review and Giveaway

WholessaleKeychain.com has every type of keychain that you can imagine! I was able to pick out three different keychains offered on their site for free in exchange for this review. It took a while to pick out what I wanted because they have so many different choices. There are butterflies, hearts, games, flashlight, picture frames, Disney characters, cars, carabiners, bottle openers - and that's not all! There are so many more keychains of all sorts to choose from.

One of my choices was this pink digital photo keychain. The picture quality is great! It has a rechargable battery and connects to your computer with a usb cable. It comes with a program that you use to transfer the pictures to the frame.

There is a small metal plate attached to the back that you can have engraved. Mine says "Manda" and it looks  very nice in an easy to read font.

For my second choice I went with the keychain flash drive. It holds 64MB of files and is available in three different colors, red, blue and black. I decided to go with the blue and I also had it engraved. I was able to put the name of my blog in larger letters with a smaller lin underneath with the the web address. It's very simply to use like any other flash drive and it works great for my files.

Finally, I chose the pepper spray with the leather case as my last keychain. I'm not sure why, I guess because I've never had a bottle of pepper spray before so I figured, "Why not?" Fortunately I have not had an opportunity to use it. I considered spraying my husband with it to see if it worked, but I figured he didn't really deserve that, so I just asked him if he wanted to help me with a product review. He said, "Sure," but then I told him it was pepper spray and he laughed at me and said I was crazy. Atleast I tried! The pepper spray bottle is in a nice leather case. I chose purple but there are four other color choices. You can also have these cases personalized. Of course mine says, "Manda" and it's written in a cursive font with a pretty gold.

I was very happy with all three of the keychains that I received. I think that you will be very happy too because I am giving away three keychains to three lucky winners. The winners can choose whatever keychain they want and have it engraved, if it's possible. To enter, just go to http://www.wholesalekeychain.com/ then come back and tell me which keychain it is that you want. Like always you can do any or everything on the list below for additional entries.

Skin MD Shielding Lotion Review and Giveaway

I was given the opportunity recently to try out Skin MD's Natural Shielding Lotion. I was given a bottle in exchange for this review. Since the very first day that I received this lotion in the mail I have been using it every single day! I absolutely love it. I put it in my bag and take it with me so that I can use it through out the day.

It smells great and it rubs into my skin easily and doesn't leave me feeling oily or stay on my skin. It massages right in and leaves my skin feeling so super soft. Another awesome feature is that you can use it on both your face and your body. I have very oily skin so I have to be careful about the moisturizer I use on my face. It worked out perfectly and left my face feeling crazy soft.

Skin MD Natural is a shielding lotion, a very special type of lotion helping the skin restore its integrity, enhance its protective functions so that the skin is able to heal naturally and regain its youthful appearance. Skin MD Natural works by bonding with cells of the skin's outermost layer to form what works as an invisible shield. This layer of protection prevents environmental irritants and pollutants from penetrating the skin, while sealing in the skin's own natural oils and moisture, helping resolve the dry skin condition.

Skin MD Natural uses only the finest natural ingredients, and is focused on urging the skin to be active, and to use its own moisture to effectively heal itself. It is not oily or sticky, doesn't sit on top of your skin leaving a greasy residue on everything you touch, it doesn't rub or wash off easily, is hypoallergenic, fragrance, colorant and paraben free and dermatology tested.

Does that make you want to try it out now? If so, I have one bottle to give away to a lucky winner. You'll be hooked once you have the chance to try this lotion. To enter to win one 4oz. bottle, just go to the website, http://www.skinmdnatural.com/index.html and leave me a comment telling me something you learned or a product you'd like to try - just check it out and tell me something, anything, that you read about. This is your first, mandatory entry. For additional entries you can do any or all of the options in the list below.

    Oral-B Stages Review and Giveaway

Oral-B Stages are the number one, dentist recommended manual toothbrushes for kids.

There are four stages that are seperated by age, included: stage 1 (4 to 24 months), stage 2 (2 to 4 years old), stage 3 (5 to 7 years old), and stage 4 (8 years old and up). They also have an Oral-B stages toothpaste to go along with the brushes that is available with different Disney characters on the package. I was sent one of each of the brushes from the different stages and one tube of the toothpaste, which unfortunately for Mr. Chase Face, I was sent the Disney Princesses. It is a fruity blue gel paste that Chase likes the flavor of but he uses a toothpaste for older kids now.

The Stage One brushes are soft with an adult sized handle so that you can brush your babies teeth. Stage Two is specialy made for little hands and little mouths. Stage Three is made for growing kids with more control over their bigger hands and mouths while they are brushing. Stage Four is made for older kids with baby and adult teeth and tender gums from missing teeth. There is a brush made especially for every stage your childs teeth will go through.

When he was younger I always bought the Oral-B Stages products for him so I know that they work great.

Eco Store USA Review and Giveaway

Eco Store USA is a company that knows that it can be expensive to buy natural or organic products, but they've found a way around this by safely super-concentrating each formulation they use. This means that a little really does go a long, long way and the result is saving money by significantly cutting down on cost per use.

I love to buy natural, organic and green products but I've found that you have to pay for them! I was very impressed with the prices I found at the Eco Store because they are very resonable and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the products that they sent to me. In exchange for this review I was sent two full sized products. I received the automatic dishwasher detergent and the laundry powder. I liked the way that I didn't need to use much of either of the products to get things super clean. You guys read about Mr. Chase Face all the time, my eight year old son and my wonderful husband, Grant. These guys leave me the dirtiest clothes ever, especially Grant, who works construction. I usually end up washing his clothes seperate from Chases and my clothes. I decided to try the Eco Stores laundry powder on a load of his clothes and surprisingly enough they were actually clean! The powder worked wonderfully.

As for the dishwasher detergent - LOVED IT! Washing dishes at our house is such an ordeal. Grant and I both hate doing dishes! I don't want to have to soak them, wash them by hand and pick off any stuck on left overs when I'm going to load them into a machine that is suppose to wash them for me. Grant will open the dishwasher to get a cup and say that they are all dirty because I didn't wash them by hand first and he'll rewash them all! I've tried tons of different detergents, gels, and packets hoping to find one that worked without having to handwash the dishes first. With the Eco Store dishwasher powder all that I did was rinse the dishes off and stick them in the dishwasher. When I opened the door when they were finished I loved the fresh, clean smell. The dishes were very clean and the cups were totally clean too. A lot of times the cups have rings in the bottom that we have to wash out by hand. It worked much better than anything else that I have ever used and it's all natural!

The Eco Store products have No Nasty Chemicals™! There are no toxic petrochemicals, enzymes, optical whiteners, synthetic perfumes or dyes, sodium lauryl sulphate, added phosphates, chlorine, ammonia, ammonia, tea, DEA, MEA, parabens, or propylene glycol.

Sometimes, I am so dingy or ditzy or dumb - whatever you like to call it. I wrote this review but I had to leave before I had a chance to write about the giveaway and then I totally forgot about it so it's just been sitting there as a draft and I've been thinking that I had it posted! So let's just move past my forgettful stupidity and get on with the giveaway.

Eco Store USA is going to give one product to two people that I will select using random.org. To enter, go to their website, http://www.ecostoreusa.com/ and come back here and tell me something that you learned. This is your first, mandatory entry. Where to Find Products for Review, Part Two

Here is the second part of my post on where to find products for review. I like a lot of these sources in this part better than some of the others. There's no way that you won't be able to find something to review if you check out all of the sites listed here. Some of the sites that I listed in part one didn't require you to have a blog but each of the sites listed here are strictly for bloggers.
    • The Product Review Place - This is an awesome site. It has a Pitches from PR group where you can find listings of products up for review. There is also a Pitches to PR group where you can pitch your blog and your review skills for PR reps.
    • Blog Friendly PR - I think that this is definetly one of my favorite sites. This is were I got my first product for review when I started my blog. They have listings for review campaigns, Blog Friendly Companies, Blog Friendly PR Firms, Feature Companies and Firms. There are a lot of opportunities here, BUT, you're gonna have to pitch the companies and firms yourself. They are not offering listings of actual products - just the companies that use bloggers. I've gotten tons and tons of products for review by pitching to companies like this so don't worry - the worst they can do is say no.
    • Diaper Swappers Forum - Product Testing - This is actually a cloth diaper community but they have a place in their forums for WAHM and Product Testing for the items that the moms make and sale.
    • The WB Word of Mouth Campaign - This site is actually more about reviewing TV shows from the WB Network and sharing information on your blog. They pay you $50 for each campaign you complete and sometimes offer giveaways for your readers too.
    • Perricon M.D. Product Testing - For this one, you just have to leave a comment on one of their blog post to be entered to join the blog sampling program.
    • SkinMD Blogger Sampling Program - This is simple, just fill out the form with your information about yourself and your blog and they will send you a bottle to review. I love this lotion and have been using it every day since I received it.
    • PR Newswire - You have to send them an email and ask about free media services. This will put you in contact with companies, reps. and lots of products for review.
    • Mommy Too Reviewers - This is a product review program that is just looking for moms to join to review products from companies who specifically want to reach influential and savvy black mom bloggers.
